My entire childhood was devoted to hating the Yankees, same as most kids. Because they nearly always kept the other AL teams out of the world series.

I watched that game last night between the Yankees and the Indians. Cleveland had won the first two games at home and lost three straight games. The New York Yankees did a sensational job, to eventually go the the ALCS against the the Houston Astros. I remember when Houston was in the National League. This match-up will certainly be entertaining. The New York Yankees have lost 5 out of 7 to the Astros during the regular season. This series will be a 7 games series. Just like the World Series. My father, who hated the Yankees, said they became the most respected team in baseball, because of Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle. And many others.

It was a great win--Yankees all the way, and any team but the Cubs. I could elaborate, but you get the idea.

Actually it proves nothing but your inability to read. I suggest you stay away from General Chit Chat and the Attic.

Yes, it was a great win. Great teams win mentally and physically. Take a look at both breakdowns with the Washington Nationals. They're going home. Some people call it bad luck. Regardless, you still lose.

Yes a rematch of last years NLCS! So a chance for redemption.

The Cubs are a really strong team so The Dodgers have their work cut out for them. My loyalty is with The Dodgers and this years team is even better than last years. I'm hoping for a great series.
I'll be at the Game on Saturday, look fro me on TV...I'll be the one wearing blue. LOL!

I've been a NY Yankees fan for 65 years. (Yes, I started while in the womb.) The Yankees are a very charitable team. There are more seats for people with handicaps in Yankee Stadium than in any other professional sports stadium in the world. The team donates to many worthwhile causes quietly. My daughter, Joanna, has dystonia. It's a disease which causes her muscles to painfully spasm involuntarily. The Yankees have had her on the field, near the dugout, twice for 1-1/2 hours each time as the team stretched and took batting practice. She got to meet and take photos with many of her favorite players including Jeter, Rivera, Posada, Mussina, Swisher, Granderson, Texiera and many others. She was also in the announcer's booth with the legendary Bob Shepherd, in the organist's booth (and plunked at some keys as he played), had a private visit to Monument Park and was even in George Steinbrenner's suite. When Joanna had deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery, the Yankees sent her three large cartons filled with Yankee gifts. They included a cap autographed by Joe Torre, Derek Jeter and Alphonso Soriano on which Torre wrote "Joanna, you're a champ," a T-shirt from "Perfect Day" which celebrated the three Yankees (Don Larsen, David Cone and David Wells) who had pitched perfect games and many other items. After Joanna's second time on the field, the Yankees sent her the entire Yankeeography series on DVDs. The management and the players were exceptional, with one exception. Arod held his nose in the air and walked past Joanna each time. One of her friends renamed him Ahole.

My father had to utmost respect for the late Joe DiMaggio. Even though he disliked the Yankees. Complete opposite to A-Rod. I saw A-Rod on TV at the Mayweather/MCgreggor fight. With his newest girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez. He is also a baseball analyst on the Fox Sports Network. Along with Papi David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox. Ortiz took Pete Rose's place, who was fired by the network. Another thing. I have been watching sports for decades. People get up in arms, when you say you dislike their team. That's what makes it so much fun to watch. Root for your Yankees to the very end. You're a true fan. When the game gets to New York, you'll see some NYC celebrities in the stands.

The Dodgers seem to have problems beating the St. Louis Cardinals and the Cubs in the post season. Cardinals knocked out the Dodgers twice in post season games. The Dodgers won 104 games. It's not just getting to the World Series. The Dodgers have to win it. It's World Series or Bust. They have to be jealous of the SF Giants, having won 3 World Series in such a short time frame. No love lost between these two teams either.

Sorry, there is no such thing as a great win when the stankies come out on top.

So I was at The Dodgers/Cubs game on Saturday and I gotta say The Dodgers look REALLY impressive.
Starting pitching is solid, bullpen is out of this world and the the hitting just grinds out clutch hits, and more impressively they get a lot of walks -which makes their opponents throw a lot of pitches.
Also we lost one of our best players -Corey Seager to a back injury and we still look very confident on the field, which speaks to the depth of the Dodger team.

We're two up on The Cubs, BUT I have a lot of respect for Joe Maddon and his team, we're going to Chicago for the next 3 games. Dodgers need to keep their focus and keep playing to their game plan and we just might end up in the World Series again after a 29 year drought.
Fingers crossed!

Yes, I remember seeing the World Series on TV, when Kirk Gibson hit that walk off home run in 1988. He hobbled all around the bases, because he had been injured. Crowd went crazy. Tommy Lasorda went bonkers. Lol.
