I watched that game last night between the Yankees and the Indians. Cleveland had won the first two games at home and lost three straight games. The New York Yankees did a sensational job, to eventually go the the ALCS against the the Houston Astros. I remember when Houston was in the National League. This match-up will certainly be entertaining. The New York Yankees have lost 5 out of 7 to the Astros during the regular season. This series will be a 7 games series. Just like the World Series. My father, who hated the Yankees, said they became the most respected team in baseball, because of Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle. And many others.

My entire childhood was devoted to hating the Yankees, same as most kids. Because they nearly always kept the other AL teams out of the world series.

Who cares about the Yankees on a photography site. I mean you want to brag go on a sports site. While I respect their excellence the obnoxious fans they attract is boring and like their attitude passé.

But, that has changed of late. The Yankees did dominate all the others in the AL. What helped them is that the Yankees had so much money. Remember New York is still America's largest city. With lots of money. Now, other teams, such as the Dodgers, can match their payroll. But, money doesn't guarantee a championship every year either.

Thanks for the reminder, but I knew that and don’t retract my comment that was so quickly validated by a true New Yorker.

I grew up in Cleveland so this kills me to say....but you gotta hand it to the Yankees, they took that series right out from under the Tribe.
Been living in SoCal for many years and I'm a die-hard Dodger fan now. Going to game 1 of the NLCS and I'm hoping for The Dodgers to FINALLY get back to the World Series.
I guess a Los Angeles vs New York series would make the Networks pretty happy ratings wise.
What would make ME happy is a Dodger win over whomever they (hopefully) meet in the Series!

Baseball is the greatest game ever, and post season baseball takes it to a whole other level-Gotta love October baseball

The Dodgers have not won a World Series since 1988. That was when Tommy Lasorda was manager. Kirk Gibson Home Run remember? They won 104 games this regular season. They could have won over 110+ games, had it not been for the long slump they went through. A Dodgers/Cubs would be killer series. Better yet, a Yankees/Dodgers World Series. Get ready. DC fans would like to see a World Series too. But DC does not have a great national fan base, as the Cubs/Yankees/Dodgers have.

The Boston Red Sox fired their manager. Not getting to the World Series must be the reason? They have no love for the Yankees getting to the ALCS first. I guess. Houston really did Boston in. Shocking, I must say. Three straight losses. Let's see how the Yankees will fair against them. Houston has home field advantage.

I was sort of shocked by Red Sox manger John Farrell being let go. I say sort of because Boston as an organization is notorious for tarring, feathering and running former heroes out of town....at least it seems like they do from the outside looking in. I mean the guy won them a World Series, turned the team around and took them from last place in 2014-15 to first place in 2016-17. So they don't advance, that sucks and it's hard to take but the playoffs are unpredictable at best and the best team often doesn't win.

I have some good friends who are Sox fans and this move has them scratching their heads.....I guess time will tell. They are a winning organization so they'll be back in it next year for sure. And John Farrell will be managing for somebody else if that's what he wants to do.

Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers for the National League Pennant. The Nationals made some mistakes that caused them to lose a heartbreaking game. Congratulations to the Cubs.
