Departure Tax? Is that a euphemism for death duties?
No, RG ... but that's a cute interpretation ....
I guess you don't travel overseas, from Britain, much, huh?
About 20 years ago, Her Majesty laid down a tax for departing from England (and Scotland, presumably) to overseas locations ....
It's a more or less a fixed sum, but, depends a great deal on your destination, and the fare you're paying.
Folks in Ireland, however - departing from Cork, Shannon and Dublin - are exempted. Not sure what the situation is - relevant to Belfast, though ...

Did you see the source for the Missouri, whilst you were there, too ... by any chance?
No, I have no idea where that would be. {in fact, the only source I've ever seen, is source of the Kankakee River - which is maybe a dozen miles from where I live}.

It's pinpointed in a bunch of maps, RE ... you might even find it in your own world atlas ....
The source feeds a bunch of tributaries ... and one of those eventually becomes - Big Mo!
Check it out, RE ....

You mean, because GB charges the most? ....
Or, did you mean something else, RG?

That'd be some commute, huh, RG?
Must be the entire other side of the world from Aberdeen ....
Is that the most?

The worst will probably never apply to me because I'll probably never fly first class.

Yes, of course, RG ...
Yet another variable which had completely escaped my mind ...
The more you pay for the fare - the more the Departure Tax ....
But, I did allude to it, earlier, actually ...
So, "dirt poor" air travelers (are there any?) escape the worst of it, huh?
