Everyday around noon, a similar locomotive and railcars came through town. My Gramps would look at his pocket watch and tell me it was time to go. We drove the few blocks to the crossing and parked roadside. As the train approached, the engineer would blow the whistle and wave to us. I like to think he was as glad to see us. Thank you for letting me relive this special memory. I was about 5 at the time.

Thank you Natgrani, I rode one from Waco to Houston when I was a kid, don't remember much about, I remember the depot more than the train for some reason, I must have been very young around 4 or so.

Built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1921.

This Pacific 4-6-2 was built as a passenger locomotive. "She" ran several routes across the U.S. but spent most of her time in Texas. This engine was in service until 1952. This steam engine burned fuel oil, not coal.
