We drove the few blocks to the crossing and parked roadside. As the train approached, the engineer would blow the whistle and wave to us. I like to think he was as glad to see us. Thank you Natgrani, I rode one from Waco to Houston when I was a kid, don't remember much about, I remember the depot more than the train for some reason, I must have been very young around 4 or so.
