Regis, all good practice for the upcoming Eagle season, lets hope it's going to be better then last year. See you there.

I hope so. Last Winter was bitter cold and snowy, so I am hoping for some descent weather this Winter. I will probably see you there.

The fish looks almost as big as the bird. It's amazing what they can carry off.

Wonderful shot, too.

Thank you very much, Vicki. The Osprey had great difficulty lifting the Kokanee salmon out of the water, but it was successful. However,
they sometimes grab a salmon that is too large and heavy. Then they will drop it. They are a strong bird, but there is a limit (size) they can obtain successfully.
I have never seen a Bald Eagle drop a fish.

Say, pardon me please for being so crass. I was so enthralled with the content of the photo that made comments about the fish and Osprey, but not about the photo itself. Your bird shots are among the best that I've ever seen and this one (for me, at least) tops the list. It is really well done. Do you just do birds? If so, I'll be happy to see them any time. But if you do other wild life ... or anything else I'd be pleased to see those shots too.

I appreciate your great reply, bobsisk. I photograph Deer, Moose, Turtles and other animals plus Butterflies, Bees, Dragonflies and other insects. Of course I photograph many bird species. I also photograph landscapes, especially in October. So, next month I will post some scenic Fall color shots of north Idaho.

Hi Great shot perfect timing. I have seen some of your other posts and thoroughly enjoyed them in fact this is why I moved up from a 5D to the 5Dsr. Any tips you would like to share regarding setup for this camera would be greatly appreciated Thank you Rich
