Awesome as usual, Regis! What a stunning capture!

Thank you very much, Jane. This Osprey had to struggle to get this rather large salmon out of the water.

This Sockeye (Kokanee) was rather large for this bird to get it out of the water and this Osprey was successful. However, some of these fish are too
heavy and the Osprey end-up dropping them.

Thank you very much, bobsisk.

Yeah, I see the tail of the fish still dragging in the water. The Osprey likely had to gain a little more airspeed to get that heavy of a meal out of the water completely.

Yes, the salmon can be very large for an Osprey. However, the Bald Eagles would have no problem lifting these fish out of the water.

The Osprey and salmon are now gone. I took many shots over a 3 to 4 week period. These were never posted before. The photos
are from 1 to 4 weeks ago.

Always hand held at 800mm at a distance of about 150 feet.

Canon 5Dsr - Canon 400 II DO f4 - Canon 2X III - 1/800 - f/14 - ISO @ 1250.

Another fine shot, Regis!
