Focus problems using auto ISO

A friend of mine shoots with a Nikon D610 and a D750 and has noticed a problem with the focus when she uses auto ISO. The ISO is only in the 200 to 640 range so there should not be a noise problem and she would recognize noise. Taking the same shot manually setting ISO does not seem to have a focu problem. I realize I do not know all of the particulars so my question is simply, "Has anyone noticed a focus problem when using auto ISO?"

So what are you actually talking about, a noise problem, or a focus problem?

I don't think you have enough facts.
There should be NO correlation between A-iso and focus.
Perhaps to keep the ISO low, the camera is dropping the SS lower and she gets a bit of blur. When she sets her own ISO, at what is it set? Maybe, she has it set manually a bit higher it allows a higher SS, thus eliminating blur???
All purely guesses!!

Two separate functions totally. The post makes no sense.

When confused about causation vs correlation, remember that banging a Tom Tom during an eclipse will always bring the sun back out 😎.

Grumpy - all sarcasm aside, your friend would benefit from having an example image posted here along with a description of the problem observed. The problem likely is not caused by a feature of modern DSLRs found in all the major brands (Auto ISO). Like nearly all problems with complex cameras like the D610 and D750, the user is the issue and they just need some help on their technique. We can't come to your friend to observe and provide direct coaching. But, the root cause will many times be obvious in the EXIF data of the images they create when this problem occurs. Be sure to store the original so we can download the file.

I use auto ISO and do not find any focus problems

That was my question. Being able to "notice" noise is one thing, but having it be a problem is quite another. We have to see sample images here.

It would have taken less effort to answer than being sarcastic. And be a little bit tolerant.

I hear you. Lately, it seems that being a self-serving pompous ass is more important than offering a simple answer. Is intolerance the new norm??

Unless the auto ISO is set to a low max and the camera slows the shutter speed. We don't know it this is a focus issue or camera shake due to too long an exposure. Too little info.

Ignore him, MK, he's always like that. I think Sharp Shooter is right. She is probably seeing camera shake from a low ISO on auto and calling if focus. Lots of people have difficulty distinguishing between camera shake and focus error.

Usually my leg hurts when the sun is not shining, but I guess we are all different.
