Not sure if I'm on the right tract...but...I shoot only in Raw.

I do use different setting i.e.: P which is for portrait shots...automatically blurs the background. I have a cannon 70EOS D....I do crop, enhance, and adjust the light to my preference.

Does that info fit the Challenge, Irene?

I don't think my camera (Fuji SL 300) has in camera effects, I would rather use Smart Photo Editor on my rather large monitor so I can see how the effects look better even if it did. Here's a few:

A challenge to share images you have taken using some of your In-camera effects. Share your favorites and share some tips on possible subjects that work best with effects. I have found that my camera (Sony) will only let me use the effects in jpeg. And, if you do not have these options on your camera....what are some of your favorite effects that you use....or share how you shoot to obtain certain effects.

Here are a few images using the 'watercolor' effect. I find I like certain flowers with this effect.....This first group are images I shot in 2014/15.....

More examples. The last one had many filters, etc. I have printed and framed it for a show in November.

It fits Judy.....what an adorable baby. I have recently started shooting only Raw (finally found a comfort level in processing Raw).....but do change to jpeg when I want to use the effects.

Found a few effects in my Nikon. Have to practice w them as I really wasn't thrilled with the results. Maybe a different subject would be better and I have to reset camera to JPEG to use effects and then hope I won't forget to switch back to RAW.

Pencil sketch (I think...)

Paint or edges or something. This would be my favorite.

Yay Pat....these are great. I find the same thing when switching to jpeg....and remembering to switch back to Raw. I really like the pencil sketch image....I find that certain subjects work with the in-camera effects....but like many, most often I don't remember to use them.
