Yes, A Mamiya and a couple of different Rolleis they cause you to think more, plan your shots more carefully. I can't afford a medium format digital so I guess I'll never get the experience in the digital realm..

I hear ya, Cambriaman ...

But, you bring to light an interesting subject ....

The Pentax 645Z and the least expensive Mamiya MF are not a whole lot more than Canikon flagship FFs ...

If one is considering such a purchase, wouldn't one be better off taking the MF route?

'twas a long search for one that had not been flogged to death. i do like it, but for ultimate printing results you really cannot match the mamiya 6 or 7 medium format rangefinder cameras. that rear element sits so close to the film plane that it just gives marvelous results. the contax, for me is easier to compose with and oddly the ergonomics of the body and grip are very nice. i was pleasantly surprised at that.

Which of these are you pitching, Quinn?

(Apart from the C330) ...

Only one of the listed is the C330. Reason is that it too big to use outdoors, I can get the same picture with the Yashica Model D. Also I not into studio pictures.

You know, I never ever bought a TLR ....

Never made a whole lot of sense to me ...

I much prefer seeing the image through the lens taking the picture ...

Parallax problems, and all that ...

Yup ... only RF that ever made sense to me was a Leica M ....

But, then - I bought a Mamiya Universal back in the 80s ....

Loved the fact I could make ANY size image I wanted, on 120/220 ....

That was worth the sacrifice ....

I used a Yashicamat 124G, decades ago. It was basically a Japanese copy of a Rolleiflex, a 120 format twin lens reflex.

I remember the image quality being incredible, not to mention the camera being quite fun to use.

Yes, I remember it well ... still some around ....

Rollei made some pretty good cameras, huh?

I always had my eye on an SL66 ... never quite got there, though ...

I understand , but I never found it much of an issue unless you are shooting close.
The C330 had a parallax indicator under the ground glass that showed where the top of the photo really is.
