Perhaps this breezy day wasn't the best time to go outside to shoot close-ups, but I did anyway.

Is this why I itch? Hubby keeps saying this is poison something. But 27 years later, we still haven't erased it.

What is this? It's purple, so of course I like it - but do the birds?

So glad this non-itsy-bitsy spider spun his web on the other side of the fence so I won't be walking through it!

I'd never guess it was a breezy day from your closeups, Sherry. All are just beautiful, and I especially take to the tater vine!! The first one looks like trumpet creeper, second..tater vine sounds good to me, 3rd beauty berry, and yes, the birds like it a bit too much here, because they've already stripped ours of every single berry, 4th..you already know it's that wonderful smelling honeysuckle, last but certainly not least..golden silk spider, and she looks like she's well on her way to making an egg deposit.

Thank you, Donna, for your kind comment and for the information. Had to do some googling.

I learned more about the spider than I really wanted to know - TMI! In addition to learning about the male's gift of a temporary chastity belt to the female, I learned that I can expect to find her at that same web for, like, ever! I'm going to keep my eye on her for more photo ops.

I'll have to mark the beautybush so Bruce and I are sure to not uproot it when cleaning the fencerow. I had never noticed it before and it certainly was not planted by me - but nice to have!

Not sure about the trumpet creeper - I have never seen any blooms on it. It proliferates next to the gate between the front and back yards (and many other locations), so I see it often. But, I am a poor observer. I will pay more attention in the future.

Always appreciate your visits and comments. Yet again, you made me learn something!

Sherry, a fantastic set of photos. I really like the close ups and the spider is a winner.

Sherry, these are very enjoyable shots! I had no clue what #1 was, but even if you itched from it, I love the image, colors and composition on that one!!
Beautiful colors and your honey suckle did bring back childhood memories for me.... I'm not a fan of spiders, but a great shot of him or her and even better on the DL!!

Sherry, about the trumpet creeper...it that is indeed what it is, be sure to keep an eye on it unless you want your entire yard taken over by trumpet creepers. Hummingbirds love the blooms, but it multiplies by suckers that come up everywhere and can be a pain to pull out of the soil. Vic thought it would be nice to let one grow up a pine. It's now at the top of several pines, and I'm forever having to pull them from the lawn and beds.

Thanks, Greg. Today I went to check on the spider but could not find her in her web. Maybe she'll be home tomorrow.

Thanks, Angela! You're too kind. Did some more shooting around the yard today. It is soooooo nice to be having such cooler temperatures and low humidity; I actually did some yardwork today, too, without breaking a sweat!
