After a few years of loafing, this year I elected to get rid of the weeds in the yard and to once more have a Butterfly garden. The physical labor was probably good for me but, at times, was somewhat overwhelming. I planted lots of proven pollinator perennials that have done their job well. While I enjoy the presence of the pollinators, my ulterior motive was to generate an accessible source of photography models. It is now a pleasure to sit out in the garden and have the creatures come to me...looks like I'm going to need to employ someone to schedule appointments!
Hope all of you have a great weekend!

I get many of the same visitors plus others (including Hummingbirds) at my Butterfly Bush & they return daily. Only had one Monarch again this year though. Saw lots of them down in Florida on vacation though. Best way to get models too...
Looks like your efforts were rewarded beautifully, Bob! Lovely creatures and always excellent photography!

Such a pleasure to hear from you again, Karin! The Hummingbird moths are so small that they easily go un-noticed, being mistaken for "just another insect". I see them at almost any time of the day on most of the different types of plants but primarily the Buddleia's, Lantana's and the various types of Milkweed's. Thanks for visiting and for adding your remarks!
