Peterff what is your problem? It is a very good question to ask.

Right. Always amazes me how some just get their panties in a twist because they don't like to see a question posted that has been around before. Yet they take time out of THEIR day to say something about it.

Just because. Why do people hit a little white ball around acres of green grass?

Hitting a little white ball can make you money, whereas, playing around with taking pictures can cost you money.

More seriously, this topic has been discussed - enjoyment, sharing, memories, history, business, challenge, reward, conversation, comradery - there are probably as many reasons as there are photographers. It can be very personal.

A facile, and pointless, comment. Several of us have already given relatively specific answers.

Just looked at the album I started in 1955. Got my Kodak Brownie for Christmas. Was 12. Still have it. I took lots of animals, zoo I think, relatives, and places we went.

I LIKE YOUR SUBJECTS!

Because it is easier to see a white ball than a green ball.

Mother Nature created the objects in the photograph. Photoshop created something else.

Well not every photo is great but I did this with around 6000 of them. The link may not be ready for around 3 hours and to be fair you may hear the odd mention of some of the infamous '7 words'. It might not be a good idea to watch if you suffer from epilepsy.

Very interesting reply, because taking pictures CAN make you money, while hitting white little balls CAN cost you money.

No question about it. You're entirely right, especially if you're good at taking pics and get paid for it. I was being cute more than being intelligent. What I'm also learning is that taking pics and sharing comments on this blog "earns" you experienced comments money can't buy and helps a person who's learning develop more confidence and techniques. That's actually earning something through photography and not really paying for it.

They may be of anything you can come up , but what ever subject, you can be sure of one thing it would be kid flicks , not

Having been the one who sent their film in for developing, I can tell you that my daughters {who were children 20+ years ago} took pictures of essentially the same things I took pictures of as a child ...

Disgruntled adult comment no only pointless, but also worthless.

You may make all the juvenile comments you want to, but neither Mr. Hollerith nor Mr. Watson would be amused. I will not compete, and I have already made the only comment I intend to make.
