Shot with a wide angle lens, with light coming in from the window behind and above. These are the first orchids I have ever had the courage to buy. After bringing them home and placing them in a newly remodeled bathroom, I became so smitten with them that they influenced me to totally change the color scheme from what had been planned. So, I sure hope I can keep them alive!

Great Orchid images...hand held at 1/16th second. The second one is my favorite. So what color are you painting the bathroom?

Sherry, they're beautiful and I know you'll enjoy photographing them as well as tending to them!! I have three... the flowers never came back, but one thing I'll tell you, when I used the ice cubes like they said, the leaves started to shrivel up... I now give them a good soaking once a week, let them drain or put rocks under them so they don't sit in the water... they love humidity!

Love the colors on yours... nice set!

Thanks for looking and for your kind comment, Stan. The walls are still the tan it had already been painted - Sherwin-Williams calls it Latte - my daughter called it brown, with a leading adjective appropriate (?) for a bathroom. I had some pictures which were destined for a yard sale or the trash heap. But, after placing the orchids, and trying to decide on wall décor, I said, "Hey! I already have some pictures that would really compliment these orchids!" And then, towels to compliment the pictures. We'll see if I can keep them alive before any wall color is changed. Besides, Hubby and Friend/Painter would hyperventilate if I changed it this soon.

Thanks, Donna.
I can't believe I am about to share a picture of my bathroom - but I am! Really grainy, because the light is low and I'm too lazy to dig out my flash and learn to use it for these shots. Besides, it'll never look like this again after I let people start using it.

Thank you, Angela. I've put ice cubes on them twice. But the other two waterings (on Sundays) are like you said. This morning, I did get out the ice cubes and had them ready to drop - couldn't do it. I said, "These things are COLD. They can't really be good for these naked roots!" I think I read that you should use distilled water which I haven't yet gotten. So sorry yours didn't bloom again and I hope I don't have to say the same. But, if the blooms really do stay pretty as long as they say they will, I may just have to buy a series of them. Maybe I can set up a GoFundMe page.

And I'd share too if I had a bathroom that looked that good..and that pristine!! Long live your orchids, Sherry. They certainly do add a beautiful finishing touch to your 'powder room'!!

You can not imagine the transformation. This WAS the kids' bathroom and was greatly abused. Now, if I can just keep them from boomeranging.
