Ahhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

It's beginning to cool off a bit here, down to 105.3 from 107 earlier.
So I went outside, curious about angles.
I realized the westerly Palm is the more obstructive of the two.
So I think a time lapse of "The Clearing of the Skies" will show more 'real estate' recovered South to North/West, than South/East.

Well, onward through the trees!

My (poor) tree removal animation from a few years back:
Trees Be Gone

I've taken out a couple more since then... The process in slow; I have to convince my wife the trees are better as firewood as opposed to decoration.

Excellent, that should open up the whole Sagittarius area Sonny. Can't wait to see all of the shots you get then. We are only in the high 90°s.

Ya think? Lately the South Meridian to the West is some prime area for me. But tonight I've got cotton-ball clouds... :^(
I'm thinking the Helix Nebula tomorrow night if the S-E tree is down. And Arcturus will be ready to include in present alignments if the S-W is clear.
I kind of hate loosing the look of them, but not the messiness.

Years back now, a seed pod from the S-E tree I was removing got away from me and about destroyed my neighbors tin shed. Jerry refused to let me buy him a new shed. So we did body and fender work on it together and got it back to as good as it was. Took the roof off, fixed it, and put it back together.
Then I gave the roof a coating of Cool Seal to be sure it was good. They are great neighbors.
Last week their water main blew out near the city water meter at the street. I fed their house water with a hose and an adapter I have to join a male hose end to a hose bib, until their plumber friend could replace the main from the meter to the house on Saturday. About 6 days. He wanted to pay us, I said no, it's just what neighbors do for each other. Help each other. They're in their 70's.

My Dad raised me to if I saw somebody digging a hole, you don't ask, you grab a shovel and help them out.

Well, gotta go pull in the telescope. The clouds are being persistent. (I can see them in my guide scope window in PHD2)
It's supposed to get hotter as we move into the week. Ahh.... summertime!

That's cute.
But we both know there was a lot of work went into that clearing.

Chainsawed, a north wind to make sure they fell the right way, sawed into 18-20" lengths, split and stacked in the wood shed... A nice warm Great Room on cold winter days; priceless!!

I just got home to process my shotts of the Eclipse.
The first one is the 92.5% of the totality I was able to get
at my location in Ashland Oregon. The second is the 1%
and best shot of the Sunspots. Smoke was a slight problem.
I did a 2 star alignment the night before and last alignment the day of.
Celestron 9.25" 2400mm scope, CGEM mount, Nikon 800E camera.
1/200 sec, f/10, temp 5150, ISO100
Converted to B&W to negate the pink from the smoke.

You done good old timer..
I'm glad you were able to get shots through the smoke as well.
Nice spot shot.

I finally had my yard clear of old trees and my wife came home with 2 maples.
I can't use firewood as a use but I can make a pretty decent pen out of what I gather.
I think its likely too soon to harvest what she planted since they are doing quite well.. (Mutter mutter.. ) LOL..

Thank you very much Jim for the reply. It's aways nice to get a complement on your work. No matter how trivial.
