Nice set indeed. I particularly like the first one. First with the vibrant colors, and second, because one of my favorite things about outdoor weddings is that you can sometimes get behind the official without being too obvious, and get expressions during the "giving of the hand" part, that you can never get from behind.

I also like the pose of the bridesmaids in the last one. My first thought is that Left Coast girls aren't slobs like Midwesterners. I've yet to be in a hotel room where they are getting ready, where the beds aren't messed up, and possibly broken from them jumping on the bed. (not sure if Tim Stapp knew this, but the "hefty gals" in our last wedding shoot, jumped on the bed in the hotel and broke it.) I'm not exactly sure how that impacted the wedding night, they were staying in that room after the ceremony.

Oh, the fun stuff we get to find out behind the scenes.

Absolutely nothing against the middle photo. I just like the others better because I can see the detail.

Not sure about anyone else's monitor or computer, but the bottom one with the bridesmaids looks a lot better in download. Not sure if it is the UHH compression, but it looks dark on the main page, but really good when you click download.

I would agree with #3 ... looks better on the download. I was underexposed and pulling out the shadows, didn't want to pull to hard and add more grain. Tough with all the back light and of course we were 40 minutes behind schedule because the girls took to long getting ready so you shoot and know your probably going to need to do some magic. We should get paid more when the day drags as we get more work for the editing.

I had 10 minutes to rig my off-camera speed lights and of course it had to go straight from the grand entrance to the first dance. We were given no time line. I was adjusting as the dance progressed increasing my speed light power ... I used 2 off camera speed lights both facing me set to 1/4 power and then on-camera with a Super Scoop set to ETTL set at 0. Used my 24-70 F/4 IS usually at around 6.3 - 8.0

That is a beautiful shot & welcome back. I would love to see paradise pics by the way.

You sure make me miss traveling. Used to go to various tropical locals yearly. Then, 17 years ago, I was downsized and got my current job at a mental hospital. (again.... I work here... I know it's confusing) Between a severe cut in pay going to a non-profit, no more travel for work (frequent flyer points) and elderly parents that we have to keep visiting in a landlocked part of FL. (tropical, but hardly a vacation) I really miss seeing sights like you have just shared.

Thanks for the memories, but.........again.... it makes me miss the old days a bit.

Glad you could take a vacation through me :)

One of my favorites I snap this trip ... on the island of Huahine. A Local Vahine waiting for the bus. Framed the shot with the bus stand and of course my little ship in the frame.

You mentioned being "on assignment" was that for a destination wedding, or something else? The most "glamorous" destination I've done for a wedding was actually Tennessee, and unfortunately, the B&G didn't check with the venue in advance, and they required that the "staff photographer" be the only one allowed to have a camera on premises, so...my shots were mostly in the parking lot, then at a local park after the fact. I didn't get to do any of the getting ready, or ceremony shots. I got to see what they got from the staff photographer, and I do admit, they did a really good job. (not that I would bad mouth someone else anyway, but they really did know what they were doing) I'm sure with several weddings a day, 6 days a week, the staff photographer got a lot of practice.... and a captive audience. I believe the B&G paid $500 for digital copies, not sure how much of that went to the venue, and how much to the photographer. I watched, and they were smart enough not to take hundreds of photos, just about 30 (ish)..... Even if they got to keep 1/2, not bad for turning over wedding parties every hour, and guaranteed to be busy every day.

I was shooting for a cruise line for the social media and future marking pictures. This is the 3rd time I've done it ... hard work but it allows me to be in paradise with my BH.

Jerry, this is just about perfect. Great exposure, expressions, and composition.
