I do not see here Nikon D750.

If you are in the U.S. you should probably buy from an authorized Nikon Dealer. The price includes a Nikon USA warranty. Otherwise you get an independent warranty from the seller or must send the camera out of the country for repair. In many cases, after the warranty, you may not find a repair facility to repair it.
Some people swear by grey market. I buy from B&H and get the U.S. support. With lenses the U.S. warranty is even more important. As long as you register the lens within 10 days the warranty is extended to 5 years.

My experience is that for Nikon you cannot go wrong with B&H or Adorama. Amazon is OK but beware the occasional gray market offerings there. Usually they're OK (same equipment) but you CAN get stung if you need warranty repairs.

I did say "some".
You said "some" but we are talking about D750.

I' m wanting to purchase a new DSLR and we looking at a new in box Nikon D750. I look at the adds in the photography magazines and the prices differ as much as $600.00 for the same camera. One says I need to buy one from Nikon USA, and another states there is absolutely no difference in the models, all new from Japan. Can someone clear this up for me as I would like to save money like everyone else, but don't want to get stuck with "second" in terms of quality. All the camera's seem to have a warrantee - Please Advise, Bruce

They are the same as far as mechanics go. But if you need a repair you are out of luck with a gray market camera. Difficulty finding parts, etc.

If I recall properly it was the 810 and the 750, so I guess I was 50% correct. Some other info I've found said Nikon would NOT authorize gray market repair of the 750 here in the states. Sorry if I misled you
, but I'm sure the info I provided will be useful to someone.

I think that Nikon will change their policy for Nikon D750 also.
I'm not a Nikon user, but be sure to get your new camera from an authorized dealer such as B&H, Adorama, Cameta or some of the other recommendations. One of the somewhat sneaky ways some online dealers grab you is to offer a sweet discount for a grey market camera and then call you just before it's shipped to inform you that the battery charger is not US compatible and the manuals and warranty card is not for the USA market. For an added fee, they can ship you a USA model. Yuck! Caveat Emptor!

Did you have such experience ?
Cameta Camera has a 1yr warranty on refurbished cameras which is more than Nikon & some other places warranty. Prices are not bad either.

Yes. Even though the new price for the USA model was $100 lower than nearly everyone else, I didn't appreciate the "bait and switch" so I cancelled and then called B&H. Got my Canon from an authorized Canon retailer, it shipped very quickly, including some nice to have extras and a 4% credit towards my next purchase.
B&H had a very knowledgeable salesman who answered all my questions. Two thumbs up!
The no sales tax applies in some states, true. However, if the seller has a location in a state, it must charge that states sales tax. I am in NY state, like B&H and must still pay the NYS sales tax. This applies to all web sales.

What if you bought from Adorama in New Jersey?

If they have no physical presence in NYS then I would pay no tax. Keep in mind, it is not based on the location of where I buy, but what do they have in NYS. Even a warehouse counts.
