I read all the comments and looked at the edits presented. In my opinion the original shot does have the most impact. It does not really bother me that the camera left side of the face is dark. The evening light is magical and there is a lot of detail in the horns, lighted eye and snout. There is also an impression of how large an imposing this animal is. I really like the original and I don't think I would have changed anything. Of course that is just my opinion. The call is, I think, completely subjective. Composition, lighting, blurred background are all there. The only issue is if you like the face dark and contrasty, or lightened to bring out detail. There is so much detail in other areas of this photo that I don't miss it in the dark part of the face.
