Eclipse, What Eclipse.

I have to admit I am mystified by all of this

I don't understand those whose answer to every question is "Mr Google is your friend". I have often said "Life is too short to make all the mistakes yourself". Often I've trouble forming an Internet query to answer a particular question, so I think asking here is entirely reasonable

I feel sorry for those perfectionists who ask which lens to use. They have a collection of nearly perfect lenses, and now they are taking a nearly perfect trip; it would be perfect if it weren't for that blasted weight limit ... they aren't quite sure what opportunities will present themselves, and this is their only chance to take pictures. Me - I'd do what I normally do - take my light-weight Pentax Q-7 kit ... but I'm not trying to take the best picture ever of the fountains of Rome in perfect isolation. I tend to take idiosyncratic pictures of places in their context of life.

And I don't understand why anyone would be offended because I don't notice when s/he takes time off from here. I have a life which isn't centered here - or even around photography - and they should able to do likewise.

It's my understanding that Christopher Columbus never made it to America. Didn't he get lost in the Carribein islands?

A useless new thread to complain about threads you are tired of. SKIP THEM if you don't like them, don't create more. Seems a bit hypocritical. Actually it seems a lot hypocritical. But, I love humor, even when it is unintentional.

Yup, and he probably spelled it wrong like you did ! ......but he waved his hand and the sun went out just when he needed it to !

Caribbean! I just happen to be watching "Pirates of the....." Told ya, I can't spell shirt without leaving the R out of it! The phone didn't get it right either!

Right over my house next time. I hope to be around. 75% coverage didn't darken things much. It was kinda like a cloud covering the sun. Same thing as in '79. I dared take a quick glance in '79 (afterall, we all see the sun from time to time) and it's amazing how just much 25% of the sun really is!!
