That's a terrific composition, chasgroh! My preference is for the B & W version, which emphasizes the different textures. The color version INHO is so predominently red that it's practically monochromatic. The brick patterns are pale by comparison with the B & W so they lose impact, especially in the section at the top of the frame.

When I saw Stairs, I knew I had to post a pic I took this past Feb. of the Loretto Chapel Stairs but it was already posted.. Amazing story behind them..
Steps in the Capitol Building in Richmond VA. Could not quite reach to middle. Got it going the other way, but with a skylight at top it's just not as good. That's an assumption on my part about being good :)
