Not exactly no questions asked. There is a lengthy fraud investigation involved, buy eventually, the purchaser should get their $$ back.

Also, from reading the article, it is obvious that somebody intercepted the USPS Carrier on the recipients front door and stole the package. For a $1500 lens, get a $98 UPS mail box, or have it shipped to a local Amazon locker.

I ordered ink from a company, who ready for shipment... but never shipped... Had paid by Pay Pal. They got all the money from the sellers PP account. $50 t.. the sale was for $70..Pay Pal made up the difference. I have ordered from China many times and price is right and delivery swift.

Yesterday got an email, your order has been delivered, please confirm, you have 30days to file if not. Those Chinese guys had looked in my mail box... the package was there. Another time the email said the package is at your front door please check.

jackpinoh... may have read the article but also read "Art of The Deal" and so as mr t would say... business as usual. Lie Cheat Steal.

If the package was sent via USPS, I would get one of their investigators involved. I would also immediately contact my credit card and have the charge challenged. That's why I don't purchase through Amazon!

Right, this seems to be a USPS problem. As far as Amazon was concerned, it was delivered, and someone signed for it. Work through the USPS and your credit card. I've gotten a lot of mail addressed to my neighbors lately.

I know this scenario well! I live at 39 "F*******" Fork Road, the PO and UPS have many times delivered a over night or 2day package to 39 "F*******" Road clear across town! Good thing is the Elderly Lady who lives there for a way to call me! We gave become good friends, the PO and UPS should be able to get it right, opposite ends of Town with only 3800 people living here!

I've never had UPS make a delivery mistake, but getting someone else's mail is not at all unusual. Having roads with similar names doesn't help with the speedy sorting of mail. I've seen towns with Elm St, Elm Rd, and Elm Drive. What were they thinking?!

I live at 103.........St.there is an identical building is 105.......St. next door. Shoes ordered from Amazon were left at 105, there were even pictures of the box left below mail boxes. Luckily I thought to go next door to look for my shoes.

Did you have to walk over barefoot?

There is one more powerful way to try. Contact the Federal Trade Commission. I have used these people and they can be real pain in the butt for retailers who potentially scam. They are always looking for these situations as that is how they get ahead. I would think they would love to go after Amazon.

I do not believe the OP is the person who was scammed. He simply posted a link to an on-line article.

So I don't see any reason to ask him questions.

I ordered a used lens from Amazon. Same deal, Amazon notified me that the lens was delivered by USPS. No lens was delivered. went to the post office, they began an investigation as their records indicated that they received the package and sent it out for delivery. The post office did find the package which was delivered to a different address. When I finally received it, the package was trashed. The lens body was scratched. I sent it back. My issue with Amazon is that the package initially was handed off to UPS which handed it off to USPS for delivery. I thank my stars that the lens was a direct purchase from Amazon. I will never purchase anything from a third party. Way too risky....

OP here. Thanks for reminding folks that I am not the victim. Just wanted to pass it along in case this was a widespread or growing problem. For those who would like to share their suggestions with the victim his info was at the bottom of the article.

You could try filing a complaint with the federal Consumer Protection service.

I live in Minneapolis so accessed the Hennepin Country Property database. There is no entry for the address 10670 Brubswick Road. Per Google Maps that address is quite a drive from me, but I will see if I can. It could be the address is phoney.
