It looks pretty organized. If I every clean off the junk at my operating position, I will post a photo of my station. Have you ever gone to the Dayton Hamvention? We used to rent a van and 8 of us would go. Now down to four or five. I missed this past year when they moved to Xenia. Thinking about going next year, but I don't need any new gear so it would be just to se old friends and also what is new. Last week, five of us drove down to Newington and one of our group, KX2X, operated W1AW on CW for about 45 minutes but only made 19 QSOs. Twenty meters was not all that good.

Yes, I went to Hamvention this year. Missed the last few but, the new location looks great. There are a couple of bugs to work out like the infield was muddy, very muddy in certain areas, and then there was a cloud burst. They may want to set the vendors up on the gravel track (if that is allowed) and stay out of the infield...but, as you know, it would not be Hamvention if it didn't rain.

This is my station set up. I recently moved and have not installed an antenna yet but, I hope to before the snow flies.

I see the antenna sitting along side your desk. Is that just for storage until you move it outside OR will it be an indoor antenna? Very professional-looking setup, tradio.

Nice rig and glad to hear from another ham. Good luck with the antenna - what are you going to put up? Here's mine (quick snapshot with an IPhone). Just finished up a a home brew 1 KW 2M amp today and getting ready to test - going to try some EME with one of the new digital modes. Let"s see some shots of other stations.

You sure got a good shine on that table top! Reminds me that I need to refinish my desk.

Nice station. I too count Ham Radio among my many hobbies... WE1H (ex N1RJF). No station today as I just moved, but I will remedy that before too long. 73.

Many found memories with "Leo" my grandpa, mothers side, up stairs at family dinners, I couldn't wait for "Garth want to go upstairs"- killing time, and when seated upstairs something like "Come on C-Q,come on C-Q Over" it was 50+ years ago, I didn't really understand the magnitude of what was happening with the distances involved until I got a little older. I do remember helping with his new antenna, from a mast on the house to a big maple in the backyard, to a bigger elm out front. I still remember his call sign (or what ever it's called) Victor Easy 7 Able Baker Baker,VE7ABB.

Thanks Tradio just made my weekend PAL, brought a tear to my eye also, very simpler time, and more enjoyable

Hi,

Yes, back then it was. Fun to get on the air for a QSO with someone (ham) in another part of the world, but those days have gone, the HF bands have been taken over by contesting.

I'm one as well. I have an antenna but it's not up high enough I'm running a wire antenna at about 30 feet. My Amp. stopped working and now I have to find a repair facility close to Cape Coral FL. 73's K7AXX

That looks like fun. I was going to get into that once, but never got around to it. I even had a mentor--W9GLG.
