Thanks for the quick ship. If you can let me know what day it is scheduled to arrive I'll try to have someone here.
BTW, I rented this lens to take to the Galapagos earlier this year and have lusted for it ever since.

If you are interested, you can see the photos from that trip at chokingdog.smugmug.com. They should appear under "Galleries Galápagos Trip." Most of the photos were taken with this lens (rented from LensRentals.com) and the Panasonic GX-8.

What camera were using it with?

I'm also 71 and now go to sleep later because I don't have to get up early.

BTW, what did you learn about the value of pm?

It's photogrow that learned the value of a pm! If he hadn't posted in the open he wouldn't have alerted you to a possible competing buyer.

Fair enough. It worked. The lens is a nice to have, but not a necessity. I'm happy to be getting it at a good price. Thanks.

Looked at Smugmug. Very fine shooting. I was surprised that most of the 100-400 shots were taken at the short end; the ones taken over 500mm (FF Eq.) were very good! I've attached some osprey shots from last winter taken with your new lens on a G85 (since sold).

The lens arrived late this afternoon. Though the box was not in great shape, the lens looks great and seems to be working just fine based on a few quick indoor shots. Everything just as you described. There was a Hoya filter on the lens that I didn't recall being part of the deal. If you sent it deliberately, I appreciate the gesture. If not, I will return it.

Thank you,

Ken

Ken,
Surprised the box wasn't in good shape! It was when I packed it; thanks UPS...

The filter is yours; I have no use for it. Enjoy the lens.

The Panasonic-Leica box you packed was fine. The cardboard box it was packed in was beaten up and the bottom packing tape was partially torn or cut. I was in no way suggesting any fault on your end. None of the damage to the exterior box seems to have had any effect at all on the contents.

I've noticed the packing from B&H in recent months has arrived in bad shape as well.

BTW, your osprey shots were very good.

Thanks! There's a perennial osprey nest at the top of the resort next to our place in Cancun. Every year we are there when they hatch and I go to the top of the hotel to get within 20 yards of the nest.
