To be clear, the visible marks are on the detachable hood not on the front of the lens body. Is that right?

Am I correct that that there are no other visible marks on the glass or body?

Does this lens suffer from the "stiff zoom" issue that has been reported? Not necessarily a deal breaker, but I keep wondering why the lens is offered for sale so soon after purchase.

Also, were the marks on the hood caused by the hood and lens being dropped?

The zoom is firm but not stiff. Never dropped the lens; suspect I scraped it against a whitewashed stucco wall at my place in Cancun while camera was on a tripod.
Selling because I have found I don't need this much reach for my shooting even though it is a spectacular lens.
