It's probably been asked and answered many times but I figured its been awhile and some new cameras are out there maybe there something I missed. I am going on vacation next month but I would prefer not to lug my giant camera with me all the time. I'm going to be shooting some landscapes And obviously some people pictures. Can anyone recommend a bridge camera that shoots Raw and has some decent manual controls. Thanks

Bridge camera? Robert Kincaid used a Nikon F. I do, as well. It's small, light, and fully manual.

You will need to give a budget to make it easier for us and yourself otherwise you will have recommendations ranging from a used $150.00 SX50 to an expensive Sony at $1500.00. Don't feel bad, most posts like yours do not give enough detail and in fact offer more confusion than conclusion.

Less than $700. It does not have to have a 2000 mm lens and I really dont want to by a interchangeable lens. Something like The Nikon Coolpix p900. Although I have heard mix reviews on it.

I hate to admit my ignorance. I am not familiar with the camera. Is it digital or film?

A heck of a nice camera and there are so many is the FZ300....24 to 600...4k if you are so inclined.....fast focus and is water and dust resistant if you get caught in the rain. I have owned a FZ200 for years and the image quality seems to be better in the fz300...you can pick frames from a 4k video for stills...The other one is the FZ1000 which tho only goes to 400mm can have it digitally set 2x I have not detected a increase in noise..The 1000 has a 1in sensor.....not weatherproofed and about one hundred dollars more...I have no quams about either camera...Bought the 1000 open box from B and M...FZ300 $497.....open box 1000 599....you won`t go wrong with either camera...Both highly rated

The Canon power shot G-7X shoots in Raw and jpeg. It has controls similar to my G-15 which is no longer produced and was replaced by the G-16. When I can't take my DSLRs, I take the G-15. I also use it to make video clips.

The Nikon P900 is a fine camera. It's only big drawback is that at full zoom the vibration reduction struggles, as does the autofocus, and it's difficult to find your subject at full zoom. Also, a tripod or other stabilizing device is really needed for that kind of zoom length. The small sensor is fine unless you want to make very large prints. And it only shoots in JPEG, unless that's an issue for you.

Donie, it was a bit of humor taking advantage of your question. Robert Kincaid was the character Clint Eastwood played in the movie "The Bridges of Madison County". Thus the bridge camera reference. It is a film camera. I have one and have used it since 1971.

Fuji X100F, Sony RX-100M4 or M5 for a compact camera without interchangeable lenses. Fuji X-T2 or Panasonic GH5 for the ability to change lenses.
