Swamp-Cork, it appeared from your post that your kitten (WP) had passed, but you had 16 years of enjoyment. They are always gone too soon, but 16 years is somewhat typical for a cat. They are always missed when they are gone.

AuntieM, thank you so much for checking in. I do hope you liked the little cat pics. Right now she is sleeping on the couch laying in some goofy position.

Whoever coined the term "dumb animal" had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. Your little bundle of joy knows a good thing when she sees it.

How do you know when the wild stray neighborhood cat moved in? This cat showed up about a year ago, and survived a very cold winter with deep snow. Eventually, with a little food, we became good friends. It turned out the cat is very friendly and has good house manners.
I love your stray cat images, Gary. My avatar is one of 5 kittens that were born to a stray cat. Your story is identical to mine. The stray was unfriendly but after being fed it started coming inside and made itself right
at home. I kept Peek-A-Boo (my avatar) who is now living with a family who adores him. It broke my heart to part with Peek but pets are not allowed in the facility I'm in. What is your cat's name?

Hi Annie-Get-Your-Gun,
I am pleased you enjoyed the pics of the new addition to our family. She doesn't really have an official name yet, however my girlfriend next door (she is 4 years old) suggested "Hello Kitty", I still call her "Cat", but my wife usually gets the last word, so the cat will likely be called Sassy.
Her cousin, a snippy little cha-wa-wa, came over to visit for the first time to day. After the dog got over its barking fit, they both competed to see who was going to sit in my lap. After a lot of maneuvering they both sat in my lap at the same time. In the cats previous life I believe there must have been some dogs. The cat is at least 3 times larger, and didn't even try to eat the dog.

What a lovely friend you made, what's his name?

Hi Annie-Get-Your-Gun, br I am pleased you enjoyed... (

I'd like to see a picture of your cat and the cha-wa-wa cuddled on your lap. If you named it Sassy Cat that would please you and your wife. Have a nice day, Gary.

Hi photophile,
My new furry friend doesn't really have a name yet, but I have some excellent suggestions. She is a well mannered 14 pound love bug.

Annie-Get-Your-Gun, I wish I had some pictures of the two jockeying back and fourth when they didn't really want to be together. They reluctantly found a place side-by-side on my lap. They just had to jet acquainted with each other. I like the name Sassy Cat. It just may stick.

Please don't let it spend another winter outside.

Hi raferrelljr,
I am very glad you checked in. You can absolutely trust me that "Sassy Cat" will never spend another winter outside, or any other bad weather.

Even tho' you didn't get pictures of them before they decided to get along, I'd like some of Sassy Cat cuddling on your lap. Does your wife like that name, Gary?

Hi Annie-Get-Your-Gun,
The cat and my daughter's Chihuahua were both competing for a place on my lap on their first visit. They really didn't want to be very close together, but after trying everything else they ended up both setting next to each other. It would be a stretch to describe it as cuddling. Possibly next weekend when the dog comes over to visit, it will be a more friendly encounter and less competitive. The cat actually seems to like the dog. The name Sassy Cat seems to be working out.
