You won't believe how much better the D7000 is and now you can safe a lot of money buying older used lenses since the D7000 has the motor to drive non AF-S auto focus lenses.

Yes sir ... I'm looking at an old Nikon FX lens 28-80 to play around with for only $35. Newer version goes for $375.

Thanks for your support ... next camera will be the 7200 ... but not for awhile ... funds damn near depleted. And I'll keep both d7xxxs. and get rid of the d3300.

Was going to wait on a D7200 in a year or so then saw this baby on Craig's list for over a month ... he reduced the price once from $400 to $300 ... mint condition with 12,000 actuations and the extra battery pack. Used inside for product shoots. My new to me D7000. Will not replace my D3300 but will be fun to learn about.

What do you mean by "Will not replace my D3300" ? The D7k is an excellent camera. It will spank your D3300 in many ways. Not the least of which is the option to shoot lossless 12 bit raw files. Unfortunately the nature of today's technology is that resale prices are pennies on the dollar after a few years, for camera bodies. That low resale price does not mean they are low quality.

Of course in the end, what really matters is which camera likes you better.

Always nice to have a couple of bodies with the same mount (D3300 a bit limited). The sensor on the D3300 is no slouch however! I just blew up some VERY sharp 16" x 20" prints from my (now gone) D3100 that I took on vacation in June this year. 14 meg sensor on that... That camera was replaced last week by a (new to me!) D7000!!

It means I'm keeping the D3300. I understand the 7000 is an upgrade and will shortly, as I get used to it, become my go to camera.

Just arrived Monday, my Nikon D7200 that I bought from MTshooter, a very respected member of UHH. Only 2,336 clicks on the shutter. He took in on trade for a D810. He owns the Camera Cottage in Billings, MT.

Currently prices are running about $750.00 on refurbished D7200's.

Ah now I understand. Good plan!
