Fortunately, the new 4th building housing the Presidential, R&D, Global Reach & Space exhibits is much better lit. Well worth a visit.
Is this a new building? My last trip in 2008, you had to board a bus to cross the property to another separate hanger. Presidential was on one side, R&D was on the other.
I have a buddy that is a WWI airplane fan that hasn't been there for a while. Maybe we can put together a fall trip. We're both retired. Any suggestions as to what day of the week to go?
New school = manual set, chimp, tweak, chimp, tweak, chimp, final tweak.....and then pp for prefection. .....
Great image SOOC and every shot could use a little tweaking (although i cant see where....this is really good) and no need to apologize for the process :-)

I had just bought this Dslr 30 days before. My first real digital. I had to learn fast or go home empty camera. Chimp, think, and tweak was the fastest method that seemed to work.
Retired teacher, farmer, carpenter, let me guess, a Tech Ed teacher? Those three vocations seem to universally go together. From one to another, happy retirement.

Love the guess--it makes sense, but I was a composition and literature teacher, fourteen years secondary and twenty-six collegiate. These sort of fit, too: form, structure, exactness (with the comp), etc. Thanks for the nice comment, and to you, too.
Great shot and well done considering the challenging light situation/

I taught Drafting/Mechanical Drawing for 33 years. Kind of like Composition. I teach, they draw, I grade, every night.
One of my favorite teacher's was an old (experienced) high school English Literature teacher. He developed my respect for the Bard and Oscar Wilde. Odd for a gearhead shop teacher, don't ya think?

Thanks.
Southpoint, isn't that close to Stonehedge? My wife and I are thinking of making a trip to the Isles maybe next summer. Any suggestions for a visitor?

Southport is a long, long way from Stonehenge I am afraid. Just google Stonehenge and there is a lot of information available.

I have been shooting for 4 years and its still a good method for me.... I will say that with experience, I can almost nail the exposure on the first shot (shutter, Iso, aperature) and only need 1 chimp/histogram/tweak shoot cycle. Aperature for DOF and shutter to freeze motion/higher for exposure and ISO for final exposure as necessary. By the time the viewfinder is to my face I am already dialing in aperature and shutter, quick check of the exposure meter in the viewfinder....use shutter or iso for final exposure pointing at target, finger holding down BBF, and then BANG (I am always on continuous so it might be 3 quick bangs)
Even if I don't nail it, its usually close enough for a lightroom tweak to make it perfect.
Practice practice practice....in all conditions.
Put it in a holster, have a someone yell "draw" and see how fast you you squeeze off the perfect round .... :-)
(....and I have NEVER come close to what I wanted using any Auto settings....I was on Manual within the first 30days of my first DSLR and never looked back...)
....good for you for learning fast, you will be rewarded !!!

Yes. The B-58 is in building 3. The new building is on the far side of the missile gallery. There is also a new eating facility on the 2nd floor of the missile gallery. The new building houses all the exhibits that you had to ride the bus to see. Check out the museum at
