James, history will tell you that the KKK was started on the Giles county court house stairs by Albert Pike, a confederate general from the civil war. I have seen it claimed that way in many places. In fact, Pike did not start it on the court house stairs, but in front of a building just off the square around the court house. It is located on the southwest side (I believe it was the southwest side) of the square and the last time I saw it was in 2010 and was a lawyer's office. Albert Pike is most famous for writing the Mason's so called "Bible" called Morals and Dogma where he openly professes that Satan is their lord. Check the corner stone of any Masonic Temple and it will have the year 4000 something instead of 1800 something, or 1900 something or 2000 something. This the year of light and it represents when Satan came forth on the Earth to start his demise. Yes, the Giles county square is world side famous for this and yet it is kept a dark secret because of what it represents.
James, history will tell you that the KKK was star... (

Thank you Kindly for letting me and everyone know. When I first read your comment, I was in disbelief, but I have confirmed what you say as true. I'm not a racist person nor do I support anything the KKK does or stands for. My family was in Lawrenceburg 18 miles west of here checking into some Davy Crockett history. He once lived in Lawrenceburg. Our route back home to Nashville took us through Pulaski. We've never been here and were on a bit of a sightseeing trip. Once I read and found out about Pulaski's dark history...I was very much saddened. I am ashamed you might say to some degree and I sincerely apologize to everyone for posting such an appalling place.
Nice shot. I love the architechture of old buildings, especially court houses and churches.

You didn't know but one of the nice things of the hobby is to learn the history of what you photograph. It is a part of our history and whether it is good or bad, it is still our history. And yes, Davey Crocket, if I remember right is from Lawrenceburg; I know he's from Tennessee but not sure form where. Lawrenceburg has a park dedicated to him. So you know, Pulaski is not a bad town, but rather a very progressive small town in rural Tennessee and has come a long way since I first was there in the late 70's and the area is a beautiful place to live; I know, I lived about 12 miles north of there for 8 years.
Another interesting story of Giles county is the Milky Way farm, which I owned a small part of when I lived there. It was owned by the guy that invented the milky way candy bar. During the depression, people walked up to and over 20 miles a day to get work from him. The man had a big heart and could turn away no one. He kept alive who knows how many families for those years and to keep people working respectively he would give them a rake and tell them to go rake the woods. After the depression, he was rewarded for his good deeds and kind heart by the federal government who accused him of tax fraud and took him for everything he had. He died without a dollar to his name. So once again, the dark side, Satan's soldiers attacked the county. Even with all this, you will not find a more caring and friendly community of people than middle Tennessee. I have lived in many parts of the country but my heart is still at home in Giles county, Tennessee.

Hi Folks, I just can't help myself when I run across a nice Courthouse...I gotta take a picture. This one located in the southern most part of Tennessee in Pulaski. I don't have much history on it or other facts to share. There just isn't anything on the internet which I thought was odd. Anyway, hope you enjoy this one.
