Yes irrelevant with the OP's equipment but useful in showing how they can be used. I see this often in the Nikon lens forum at DPR.

>>> I can't speak about the 300/2.8, but I can offer some experience with the 300/4. The AF-S 300/4D is an excellent lens, and gives high quality results at f4 as well as stopped down. Adding a Nikon 1.4X TC causes no discernible loss of image quality >>>

Thank you. I am looking at a very expensive 2.8 600 lens but wow what a price.

Using for Golf tourneys.

What you recommended will be my first choice and then we go from there.

Relax, Bill. Ernie mentions the 300mm f:4 PF and the TC-14Eiii, both Nikon products. His post, IMHO, is irrelevant to the OP, who wants to use a TC on an 18-300 lens, which ain't gonna happen with Nikon's TC's.

I fully agree with your response. But back to him, I love folks who hide behind some one else's skirt when making a response. They won't come out and say what they think, they use other folks to say it for them. Just like folks today blame others for their mistakes.
