It amazes me that some people who don't own Lensbaby products see Lensbaby photography as not "sharp" as in 'out of focus', but it's not that way at all. Lensbaby photography can be as sharp (I'm starting to hate that word ) as images taken using other lenses. Thank goodness Julian is kind and complimentary even though he prefers a different style. It looks like you chose a wide aperture, Jane, and your work is absolutely beautiful.

What she said!!! Jane, I love these shots, and oooooed and aaaaawed over them as I scrolled down. It's not taken you long to master than lens. Way to go! The first shot - of the lily - sure set the tone for the whole viewing.

I like the idea.... but the reason I love Flickr is because there are many lensbaby users on there who understand the beauty of the softness and they have different groups that you can join.... and get inspired!!!

I understand about sharp photos, but I think the composition has to be there!!

Ì love your photos. It is so refreshing to see flower photos that aren't tack sharp
Those kinds of photos are a dime a dozen. I am an artsy type and like things that are very soft focus and even slightly blurred. Right now I am toying with a pinhole camera and trying to master it. You are doing quite well with your Lensbaby.

Thanks, dragonfist! Your kind comments are really appreciated. I'm sure having fun playing with my Lensbaby. They also have a pinhole optic with various aperture discs with different size holes. I don't have it, but I've seen examples.
I'm going to check out your posts, add you to my buddy list.
Have fun with your pinhole camera, and I look forward to seeing some shots.

Thanks, sundar! I love the soft, dreamy effect of the Lensbaby lenses. Like you said, something different. I appreciate your wonderful comments.

Thanks so much, Cathy! I'm in love with this new lens for sure. My biggest challenge was keeping an eye on the backgrounds to make sure there wasn't too many distractions. I'm going out to shoot today, and we'll see what I come up with. Practice makes perfect!
