I'm sure many of you sat or stood up last night watching
Nik Wallenda fantisic walk from the U.S. to Canda. Believe
me I was on pins and needles the hold time. I'm 65 years
old and I do maintenance on overhead cranes that are close
to 100 feet off the ground and I couldn't come close to feel
what this guy must have felt on that cable.
Some may think this guy must be a nut case,I believe he is
a hero, to have that much faith and desire to fufill his dream,
is just remarkable. My hat go off to him and my prayers to
his family as well.
Nik, from my family to your, we wish you and your family
the very best and can't wait for the Grand Canyon.

I completely forgot that was last night! I am glad to hear he made it though and maybe I can catch the Grand Canyon one. Then again it might be good I missed it. I have height issues and my palms and feet probably would have been sweating if I had watched.

It was a fantastic event; party atmosphere; perfect weather.

There was a tremendous amount of planning, engineering and implementation. The cables were dismantled almost immediately afterward. Got to see him practicing a few weeks before the actual event. It was the time that the NF fire dept. provided the water and a boat fan provided the wind. At one point the fan turned towards the crowd and about a 100 people got wet and maybe a couple cameras. Would have loved to get a picture of that. Attaching a practice picture. It's fuzzy because of the water/mist being blown at him to simulate the falls.

It was a great event for the area and the Nikster (we're on
a first name basis ). :) He's really a "down to earth" guy (no pun intended).

Notice the little "GoPro 2" camera on his balance pole. Those are amazing video cameras! I have a few and use them on cars, planes and Balloons.   to Nic.

That was interesting, but if you are near any major city, look up, guys are walking steel 60-70-80-stories over your head every day. Talk to an elevator steel worker, they go up first.

Considering the commercials advertised him as the man ''that walked across'' in the past tense made it totally non interesting to me.

Do you think that because he was tethered - that was the major reason he got the permits to do this stunt over the falls? After months of preparation and years of anticipation.

I was wondering if there was a border guard at the end of the wire ready to ask him: "Papers Please?"

If you view the ABC clip, they required he be tethered - which he felt awkward in doing. He was also fearful of tripping over the tether.
