These are wonderful David. What I really enjoyed though was the article on photographing bats which in turn led me to your wonderful website. It appears one thing does lead to another, and I plan to go back to the website when I have more time to look at everything. I learned some things just by looking. Thank you.

Sacramento or American River? Probably American since you are closer to that one. I grew up and lived in Sacramento from about 1950 to 1972. My folks had a house at Fair Oaks Blvd and Eastern Ave. The American River was a short walk across what was then the hop field. I posted a photo of the hop field a couple years ago (http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-103284-1.html). Of course now that area is overrun with houses, schools and roads. I sold their property several years ago after they passed away and the house was demolished and replaced with the current structure. Looking at the property on Google Street View I can see some of the remnants of their house still there, the slab for the detached garage and an asphalt driveway on the north side of the lot leading up to that garage. One of my sisters has lived in Orangevale for years. Another sister lives in Elverta.

Thank you very much Vickie. I enjoy sharing information. The pleasure I receive when one of the kids in the classroom understands a new concept is very rewarding as well. Life is a big classroom. I an enjoying it while I can.

It is the American river by Sailor Bar. I was raised in Fremont in the SF bay area, but have adapted to the Valley life. Thanks for you kind words for the work I share.
