I retired and stopped shaving every day. Simple as that. Now it's just a matter of keeping it neatly trimmed.

I don't ever remember working with anyone who had a beard. But where I live now, it seems that almost every other male has a beard of some sort. Way back in history, they didn't have razors so every male sported a beard of some sort.

I quit shaving when I got out of the Navy in 1969. I trim my beard about every six months and when I do my face gets cold. Had I put away money monthly that I would have spent on blades, cream etc. I suspect I'd have a tidy sum. By the way, my wife says she'll leave me if I shave, I think it's an idol threat but I'm not going to test the waters.

I barber the beard every two weeks, the hair trim is every three months. After a lifetime cutting my own hair and beard, I'm not bad at it. Of course having a "so what" mindset helps as well as knowing when to stop if it's not going well.
