If you are going to overclock, the air cpu cooler won't cut it.

Not a chance it will take that long with your rig. You're internet connection at this point is likely the slowest component. I would gesture to say about an hour for installation.

So I might not have time to drink a pitcher of margaritas like I do when Adobe updates something?.........LOL

Are you going to overclock? I assume that's the reason for the unlocked processor and high speed memory.

Initially we are not overclocking, but we have that option if I decide the system is too slow to handle my work flow.

Known. We are not overclocking and water cooling right now. If I decide the system is too slow to handle my work flow, I have the option to do more with this system.

The only suggestion I would have is a different SSD. The Samsung 850 EVO is constrained by the SATA interface. The Z270 montherboards support an M2 drive that operates under NVMe. I would recommend the Samsung 960 Pro (or less expensive EVO) I purchased the Pro version not for the increased speed but for the durability.

Yes, the M.2 is considerably faster than a conventional SSD.

My new computer has been built, has been delivered to me, and is cruising at Warp Factor 9.
What used to take 30 minutes now takes 30 seconds.
It's a beast.
Pictures, new on the left, old on the right.

Glad you like it. Using a computer with an SSD for the first time is amazing. How do you like the new monitor? I really need one that has accurate color.

I never thought I'd like a big monitor but I'm getting really addicted to this one. The image is clean, crisp, clear, and actually quite beautiful to work on.

Nice! That looks like a Corsair Carbide case. I bet there's lots of room inside for more drives, etc.

Yes, and there is. I've still got two things coming. One is a flash card reader that has slots for SD, microSD without the stupid adaptor, CF-I, Memory Stick, MMC, SmartMedia, and xD-Picture Card. The other is a set of special filters to prevent cat hair from getting into the computer case.

One showed the assembly, but the narrator spoke very fast. I commented on that, and he replied that it was already too long. So, if your video is getting too long, just talk very fast. It doesn't matter if no one understands you.

Thanks for the laugh, Jerry.

I have cats, never knew there were filters to keep their hairs out of the computer case! Where can I find them?

Your computer does sound super! I need to upgrade mine, not entirely computer-savvy, but have replaced some components. It was built for me, but the guy sold his business. I keep hearing people say it is easy enough to do it, will have to search online for some guidance, then perhaps I will do it myself!

My computer guy got the filters at Amazon. I don't think they are listed as "cat hair filters" or anything like that. It's just that they have very fine holes that the cat (and dog) hairs can't get through.

How are they installed? On the inside of the case?

When I replaced the graphics card, the new one came with a different style plate and it left a large opening in the back of my computer case, plus the air flow screen on the side is always getting dust and cat hairs on it. I vacuum the outside, and periodically also do inside!

They could be but I put mine on the outside so that they can easily be cleaned.
