Nice. Real nice. When I figure out where I am going to be next and, one hopes for the long-term, may have to look into one of those. Beautiful work. If that ain't getting it right I am very eager to see what is!

Thank you so much, frjack. That is so encouraging! It was a lot of tedium for me, its the learning curve and all, and I did mess up multiple times and had to start over multiple times,as well! I am loving seeing Slovenia through your eyes and images. You have made it a place that I definitely want to visit.

Carly Sue, between your ability with the camera and your husband's ability with tools, you achieved a fantastic series of photos. I believe you are either very close to your goal or have reached it.

How very kind and encouraging you are,Greg! If you only knew what I put myself through to get something that I felt I could post! Thank you so much!

Well I see that you had no problem at all, Carla. All are just beautiful, and I do so love your choice of subjects!! I'm so envious of your Japanese maple. Mine wasn't worth going to the trouble of stacking (so I didn't) and yours is simply glorious! Oh..and the phone call was my pleasure, and I'm looking forward to another chat!

I'm very drawn to the delicate nature of the maple leaves. Can't wait to see where your creativity takes you, Carla. Beautiful work!

Linda, I'm pleased you enjoyed these. That Japanese Maple tree has always been a favorite of mine for flower cuttings and arranging and now it is serving me for a bit of photography! It's leaves are dark red, has just come out this past week. The back light plus over-exposure allowed them to photograph as yellow. This had 3 images in the stack, and because of all the detail, was the most difficult of the three posts.

I was so impressed by Donna and Angela's images using a lightbox that I continued to research it a bit and my husband, who is always in need of a project, agreed to build me one. Quite simple, really, and I am having so much fun. These are my first attempts, and I have a ways to go to get it "right". Thank you,Donna (Dixiegirl) for your patience on the phone--over an hour!

These are lovely, I like 1 most, we have a Japanese maple in our front yard.

Carla!!! Well done and kudos for your hubby for building you a box (I had to make shift my own) to create such beautiful art!!
I enjoyed them all, but especially the azalea and dogwood!! Keep playing, creating and posting!!!

Angela!!!I am so glad you found my post! You made it look so easy! I worked on it all last evening (home on a Friday night? I must be a real loser!) as a storm was passing through that lasted until this morning. A lot of time but I finally got a few that I felt post-worthy. Phillip is always accommodating my requests for projects, he's a good guy. I'm pleased you enjoyed these!

Thank you,Spectre! I really appreciate your time to look and leave a great comment! I took the liberty of checking out your posts and you do very impressive work. Loved the gorge at Columbia River! Phillip (hubby) is a gem, he likes projects, I like him to make me stuff.

Donna! You are my inspiration and so pleased you enjoyed these. Your directions are spot-on and my frustrations and do-overs were all my mistakes. I learned a lot about "stacking". First off, don't change the size of the images until you have them stacked! Geez! You'd think I could have thought that one through!

You did great, but I have no clue about taking multiple shots or using a tripod.... I 'cheat' and take one and then do the rest in processing, starting with duplicating the layer, then blowing out all the color and then adding some back!! Believe me, Carla, you are NOT a loser, you created beautiful art, especially for your first time!! Your background is all white, where I struggle with imperfections on mine that I have to keep cloning out. Question: what kind of light source are you using. I just had a LED lamp that I bought at home depot, but it generates too much light only in the center.

I'm so glad you enjoyed these, Karin. I love that tree, I've used branches for flower arrangements and now this. Thank you for looking in and leaving a comment.

Angela, Phillip built a box, about the size of a drawer. Actually, he could only find one sheet of white acrylic (Mennards) so made the box the same size. He painted the bottom of the box white so it would reflect the light and used rope lighting,LED, the brightest illumination he could find, and roped it across the box bottom, holding it in place with the clips that came with the lighting rope. He had drilled a hole in the side for the cord to exit to plug into the electric outlet. Then screwed the acrylic over top. And Voila! I lay the objects on top, and take several shots, f16, and over exposing at increasing intervals.

Wow.... that's some project!! Me, I take my little 12x12 and stick it across two litter box buckets and put the light under!! LOL!! But I do need to get different lighting, like I said, it projects only in the middle!! Is your plexi semi translucent? when I first tried this, I used clear plexi and put white paper on top.. it worked fine, but a lot more work in Elements. Enjoy your box, Phillip should take orders!!
