This fiddle and mandolin are both around 5 years, old made to look like artifactos. Hand tooled surfaces and gun blue on the metal parts. I've made straight looking instruments but these are the fun ones.

Very cool Texcaster. My wood work is a little rougher cut. Very impressive

This doesn't endear me with the purists but life is too short for that.

Beautiful

Definitely a structurally stable shape, but I would need a new wind analysis program to help me resolve all the different vectors of the resisting shear walls.

I found some layouts that look pretty workable, but I not going to build one. I'll probably go straight to assisted living from this abode. Daughter has one picked out for us. Although I've heard going a continuous cruises may be cheaper.

Sounds like a plan, for sure!!

I love it! No more heels and cute little shoes - now it's orthotics and hikers!

Here's an odd discovery from last week.....What's really funny is that my grandfather's father owned one of these way back when in Stamford, Ct. Had to photo these houses -think the family one has been destroyed...I do have a picture of it, however...I'll attach it when I find it!

Very interesting, Judy. Loved the tintype

That press looks like it could still work, MattPhox. What flavor grapes you got there. Mustang grapes grow along some country roads here in TX.

Pf 5:
Photophile, what’s old and what’s new, I know they’re all special to you.

WendiW, you are doing well. I would have shot at a little lower angle, but that a personal preference on composition. Great with the old and new, and she is special.

Roadrunner, mothers are beautiful.

Pg 6:
Roadrunner, that is “berry good”.

Godend Rule, vintage photos are great, and special when they include someone known.
Photophile, now who you calling old here.

Pg 7:
Nice series, Woodsliv, love that old Speed Graphic. Don’t think I’d want to carry it around to places I like to shoot.

Pat, I did better than that. We went to Scuzzi’s, a nice Italian restaurant. And yes we had lunch today on the boxes we brought home.

l-fox, perfect series, the old, the new, and the special.

Katspangle, great.

Roadrunner, you’re right, and I’m with you. So, you’re still setting fires inside I guess.

Pg 8:
Good stuff, Photophile. Must be hard to blow and sculpt glass inside a bottle.

Pat, yesterday?? Maybe not! Last week, maybe. And I see the Pat and Jim story continues.

Good looking crew, Mattphox.

Pg 9:
Mattphox, I don’t hardly wear the first kind much anymore either.

Judy, I hadn’t seen a hexagon house myself, but I did go look up some layouts. Found a number of interesting possibilities.

Ok photophile,
Pg 4: br That press looks like it could still work... (show quote)

Yup, the "Pat and Jim" story goes on - that was so funny, Larry. You and Dee are so much like us it isn't funny.

Thanks for your comment. I believe the grapes around here are Concord. My mother used to make grape jelly with them. Now my wife picks the grape leaves and uses them to make a meal called sarma. She makes a stuffing of lamb, onion and spices, etc. Then its rolled in the grape leaves individually and cooked in a broth. Delicious.

Greek?! Love stuffed grape leaves. I have a recipe for Concord Grape pie. It is soooooo good.
