Something old, something new, something special just to you. So what was on my mind when I came up with that challenge subject? I think that the idea was to come up with three shots that have special meaning to you around your house, around your yard, around your country. I'€™ll look forward to any and all posts.
I actually found all three in one shot. The house originally belonged to Grandpa and Grandma Hammer in Andrew County Missouri. It was a small old house we visited often and lived not far from for a while in my youth. It had one bedroom, a living room, kitchen, and a sun porch on the south facing side and a mud porch on the east side. Dad and his brothers added a bathroom for them after we had moved to Omaha. When dad retired from FAA they moved back and bought the place remodeled adding rooms and basement. The brick veneer facade on the south face was the old sun porch, and that was the extent of their remodel. There was a yard beyond with a huge old tree that shaded the best croquet court in the county. Grandpa Hammer was hard to beat. Well that'€™s the old, what'€™s the new. Dad sold to a young family that really remodeled exponentially to what Dad and Mom had, but what is really special about the new place is those columns at the new entry. Ryan had them milled and hewn from that old tree that shaded the side yard croquet court that is not there anymore.
Bring me your memories, yours latest newest, and or most special shots.
Oh yeah, one more special memory about that old house....

A couple from Missouri. The first one is a lightning strike on the 18th hole of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club. I have never seen anything like this. I put the golf cart in the picture so you could see how big the affected area is.

A few on this interesting challenging challenge...
#1 is a Grace Putnam newborn doll which belonged to my mother (I have pictures of her playing with it), I don't know how it survived (it's head is bisque) as my sister and I played with it ALL the time.
#2 An engagement gift from my husband - another valuable old doll
#3 A tradition passed down to my kids and grandchildren - coloring eggs - only now the kits can get pretty sophisticated.
#4 Just for ME - a Nikon D750. My first Nikon and I am enjoying it very much. I still get frustrated with it because I don't get to play with it and practice enough.

Mother's doll.

I play violin! Have an old one and new music - just your opposite.

Boy, you hit a fav. subject with the dolls, Pat. As you know, I love my old dolls -so I'll have to show a few off, too! I've been rehabbing a few that needed loving care and am so happy with the out comes!
