Looking for a recommendation on a decent book on the Nikon D750. Wanted to go with the David Busch guide, but it is no longer in print and listed at a ridiculous price, thanks fellow Hogs.

I got the Tom Hogan download for $29.99. No complaints.

TJBN - just checked amazon and the first book listed first guide book shown for the Nikon D750 is David Busch's at $19.99 and several other authors in similar price range as stated in an earlier reply.
Don't understand why these books are not showing for you.

I saw the same thing. The $19.99 one is the abbreviated Field Guide to the big brother full manual. $499.99 and up is criminal in any case.

Check out Thom Hogan online. He sells only eBooks, but they are second to none.

Thanks Patty, first time I looked before posting most of them did not show being reviewed. Just checked, the display format changed and now all are showing stars. Haven't got a clue as to why or how.

Thank you CK and Ralph. Just a quick FYI "David Busch's Nikon D750 Guide To Digital SLR Photography" is out of print and list's on Amazon for $499.99 through a partner and that is the lowest price among their sellers. Thus my inference of a ridiculous price.

It could be a place-holder in case the seller gets more books. He can just change the price. I can't believe that book won't be reprinted.

I also have the Busch Compact Field Guide to the Nikon D750. It is still in print. It is good also just not as detailed and Darrel's book.

That "ridiculous" price is probably not a typo, price gouging, nor for a signed first-edition. It is a convenient way for the vendor to say that book is temporarily out of stock. Because it will be easier for the vendor to delist and relist the ad when the book becomes available and may even avoid paying relisting fees.

My response may be off your original subject a bit. But I thought this information may be worth sharing with you and all Hoggers.

Happy clicking!

Which of the books mentioned above gives a good explanation of the autofocus modes on the D750? I'd like to understand how the area focus works (if the main subject is not behind the center focus point).

Darrel Young's book gives a good explanation.

Re: D750 autofocus help. I answered my own question on this topic. There's an excellent video on YouTube on the subject by Ralf's Foto Bude at:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgEIjCaMj1U. He explains it very well, and covers bracketing and some other side topics.
