Things are getting crazier as time goes on,so I just try to adapt and skip the unacceptable when possible. I'm sure that most of us will not lose any sleep!

I try not to. I turn up to the airport early, get through security (took me a whole 10 minutes last time I went France), then go have a decent Mexican breakfast and a few top-shelf Margaritas and I'm set for a good six hours sleep on a ten hour flight! And the cameras are in the overhead above my seat. Similar on the way back, except for French food and beverages.

It does depend upon the destination and routing however. What you plan and what you get are not always the same thing.

I do not fly internationally, but I prefer to arrive at the airport early as opposed to sitting around waiting for the clock...retirement is good!

I shall look forward to it!

Still in harness..., although it's not so much retirement but financial independence...

I apologize if I came across snide. The issue about travel bans with cameras could affect us in our country as well.
Not to waste more time,I recommend to contact the Department of Homeland Security and ask for information regarding the ban on traveling with electronic devices.
You will get two pages of detailed information that answers all questions. The restriction are not the airlines fault. Intelligence showing that the Islamic State (ISIS) is developing a bomb hidden in portable electronics, spurred the United State to bar passengers from airports in ten countries. Should any of the airlines refuse to comply with the measure, they will loose permission to fly to the United States. As "Opsafari" pointed out, those rules will affect the all ready hurting tourist industry of Africa. I wait for the rules to change so I can fly via Dubai to Africa. "OJ" There are numerous open minded members of the Forum that participate and give good advise. O.J. pay attention how more and more rules, rule our over-ruled life. WOW-I never met a person that did NOT want to go to Africa. You play BINGO?

why call the airline when you can ask here ??

Yes, get some outdated or confusing, and contradicting advice here rather than from the people who will be enforcing their rules on you?
