Hi,

What is the best macro lens for Micro Four Thirds? I am looking for something with similar capabilities to Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x lens http://www.canon.co.uk/lenses/mp-e-65mm-f-2-8-1-5x-macro-photo-lens/

Thanks.

I am unaware of any macro lens that has the 1:1 to 5:1 capability of the MP-E-65.
That lens is why I would like to switch to Canon :)
A 50mm macro (1:1) and a full set of extension tubes (~65mm) would get you a little over 2:1 but the working distance would only be about 1".

In my opinion the best one is the Olympus 60mm 2.8

Would the Canon lens work with a Metabones adapter and Olympus E-M1 Mk2?

While I have not used a metabones adapter, I see no reason why it wouldn't work. It it fits, it clicks.

There is no lens that is a 1-5X. A good macro is 1-1. You got some bad information some where.

There are at least 2 or 3 lenses with that capability (other than Canon), but I need to think about it, just right now I can not come up with the made and model name!

You mean besides the Canon, or do you mean period? I do have the mp 65 and it is definitely 1:1 - 5:1!! There are others also!!!

Just get some auto extension tubes. That's what I use on my OMD-E-M10. Works very well. Some people here say they only use manual focus when doing macro shooting. But I very seldom do, unless it is someplace I can setup a tripod easily.
Here is a shot of an orb weaver spider with the M10 and extension tubes.

If you already own the Canon, then yes, adapt it to the Olympus...or pick up a 60mm. Personally, I'm trying snag a cheap Sigma 105 f2.8 that was made for 4/3. That way I get the extra working distance and since I already own the mmf-3, I'd also get AF, although, it's noisy and slow as heck with that lens.
