Pentax has made excellent camera's and lenses since the Spotmatics (thread mount) SLR and the Super Takumar lenses all in the late 60's and 70's. It's not surprising that Pentax has improved throughout that time... up to today. No argument from me there.

However, Olympus has been one of the most creative camera companies since the 60's right through today... 4/3 and micro 4/3 sensors. First with 5 Axis Image Stabilization... many more.

Fujica developed EBC coatings for their lenses decades ago and only improved it since then. (Electric Beam Coating for anti flare).

My point is that no camera company holds the control on new and innovative products. Some do become lax, because they think they own the market.. I put Canon and Nikon in this category, but it's catching up with them. I don't consider either one of them great, or creative/innovative. Their status (lack of) in the mirrorless market is evident in this arena. I have not bought them for a long time, and will not now.

Sony... new player trying to capture market.

Pentax, always high regard for them, just as with Olympus and Fujifilm, which is what I have shot for some time now. Do I think Pentax is superior in some way. No. Just a creative company stretching for market share.
Pentax has made excellent camera's and lenses sinc... (show quote)

I don't think anybody here will question the high quality you get with a Pentax product and/or it's part it played in innovation over the years and now (I do shoot with Pentax as well and love their stuff)! But it is a fact, that all the firms that put forth new products on the market do improve on their existing products constantly and most of them are doing it in innovative ways, and yes that includes Canon and the likes as well. With the arrival of lot of their new lenses (Mark II, or III), new innovations have been introduced and big steps of improving their existing lines realized. Sigma is making big strides with their Global Vision line of lenses, Olympus is constantly improving in all their products and so, Pentax is just a "natural"part in this!

Not bursting a bubble here but Pentax's "holy trinity" of lenses (15-30mm F2.8, 24-70mm F2.8, and 70-20mm F2.8) are nothing more than re-branded Tamron lenses with the VC removed. "SP" is Tamron technology, not Pentaxes.
That said, when these lenses are paired with the Pentax K-1 body you get an amazing combination of features not found from Canon or Nikon.

^^^EXACTLY what I read in a review.

Pentax's implementation of it is far better than that of any other manufacturer. Neither Nikon nor Canon uses it in their high end DSLRs.

You may want to check out Olympus's version of it. In the em5
Mark 2, PenF and EM1 mark2 - in that version it is able to fix small movements. Olympus is working on it to be able to use it handheld. It was promised for the new EM1, but the processing speed isn't available yet.
