Up grading from 70D to 80D

Well, then you have your answer. What else do you need? The 80D is a also a better camera in many other respects.

I play with time lapse quite often and have a few release/timers, but, I've never used one on my 80D because it has it built in. One less set of batteries to worry about and nothing plugged into the side of the camera, dangling away. I do use one on my 70D, it works great.
