There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Hedgehog Zone. Welcome!

I like to get good composition, taking time to check the edges of the viewfinder to make sure I'm getting what I want. An online instructor emphasized "working the shot." Shoot it from several angles.

Don't know what camera you own, but chances are there is a ______(Insert your camera model) for dummies instruction book for it. They are very good from beginner to pro !

OMG....Rod Sterling is back....

You can get great pictures with any camera...just read and learn...and shoot all you can. Even if your pics turn out not so good...you will learn from every one of them.

I had a point-shoot back in film days. It had a 38-120 zoom lens and I got some amazing pictures with it. You're ready to move on when you've explored all your camera's capabilities and are wanting to do photos your camera isn't physically capable of. I can't tell you how many friends I have with DSLRs who have never used anything but auto... By the way, there are point-shoots out there that have the same settings you get on a DSLR and even shoot raw. A good photograph is a good photograph, no matter what camera it came out of. I won't say it's all the photographer, but it's way more photographer than camera. Good luck with your learning process. Charlie
