Hi Folks, I thought some of you might enjoy a look at the remains an old hydroelectric plant built when electricity was just beginning to spread across America. This is the dam and what is left of the plant that housed the generating equipment. It was built on the Stones River just north of Murfreesboro Tennessee. I've read it closed in the 1930's. Today the site has been converted into a nice park and recreational area. The dam makes a beautiful backdrop for a picnic coupled with the gentle sound of the water cascading over the dam.

Nice shot. I remember Murfreesboro from signs on the Interstate.

Thanks for stopping by Folks, a few of you picked up on my mentioning picnicking so I checked to see if I got a shot that might help you envision that. This shot was above nearer the parking lot.

Yes Jerry, it's along I-24 about 25 miles south of Nashville on the way to Chattanooga. During the Un-Civil war it was the site of The Battle of Stones River.
