OH,MY, Larry. Hours well spent! Perhaps not what you had in your mind, BUT! Look at what you have been given and given to us! Beautiful light, glorious color, and rare glimpses into the universe from where you stood. And you left knowing that there would be another day, another fantastic shot and that you would be back again. And you left us wanting more! Superb photography,Larry.

As always Carlysue I thank you for your wit and wisdom. The night was scheduled to accommodate a local camera club that wanted to do field work with me on learning how to photograph the Milky Way. The date was scheduled 2 months ago. I was really worried about the weather and as I drove there the rain seemed to justify my fears. While the rain stopped, I still had 68 people who were there at 3:15 a.m. to capture their first Milky Way photo and they were worried. I kept telling them they would go home with something they would be happy with and then I had to produce... The clouds were a bit of a bummer but they broke just enough. A good time was had by all. I didn't get much time to shoot as i was helping everyone else. After the Milky Way faded and I thought they would be leaving more than half of them decided to follow me around for the morning. There were thirty camera set up to capture that sunrise photo, and the better one that shortly thereafter followed it. They were really shocked when I stopped for the pine tree shot---they didn't know what was there until they looked at my L.E.D. screen.

Thanks for your thoughts. You dohave a way with words....

Isn't it a wondrous thing,Larry, that when I look at these images, I feel that you (or the viewer) is out there all alone, just the quietness of the glades and the wildlife awakening. YET there were several dozen people and multiple tripods all around. I'd have never guessed!

And what you produced are three inspired photos, but the glimpse of the Milky Way is my favorite.

Carlysue. I am almost always out there alone. I felt really out of sorts with the crowd around, but then there were so many of them who, once we got started and they decided I knew what i was doing, were really eager sponges who wanted to learn. Their eagerness made the crowd bearable. They tell me I'll be asked back to do future workshops.

Thanks Sirius. I'll be going back when I get a clear night. There is always an image to be made----if you learn to look for it. It is a big, beautiful world...

I went to the everglades last night hoping for a shot of the Milky Way. On the way to the 'glades it rained. Not a good omen. When I got to the 'glades and the Milky Way finally rose---the clouds obscured the core and "ruined" my shot. Then the clouds covered the entire thing. DRAT! Since sunrise was only an hour away, and I was already there I figured I'd just wait and shoot sunrise. After all, I had clouds. When sunrise finally came---no clouds, so I had to settle for what was there--a near cloudless sky. DOUBLE DRAT!! Nothing left to do but walk back through the woods to get to my car for the 90 minute rise home. Wish I could have found something to photograph!!

Perseverance pays off. Still, the Everglades at night sounds scary.
