About 40 feet. I had my Tamron 150-600 with a 1.4 teleconverter on. Clearly not thinking I'd end up so close to a doe.

It's a great capture for you. You didn't feed her? Might not see her again for a while. Deer are really getting pissed at humans invading their territories, be very cautious returning to this spot. Wildlife is beginning to become activistic (?). They are organizing!

Nope, never heard of it. I live in an environment where we share everything with the "natives". The animals that eat on our property know they can trust us and they are safe when here. They even live with the dog, but there have been confrontations between them over food. Dog even steals food from the fish. Animals can be cruel.

I never feed animals when I am out shooting. These were in a state park where they are accustomed to people.
