Interesting theory put to it's first test...

Ever since Ross Perot, and perhaps even before, it has been argued that a business approach to governing would cut through much of the red tape and bureaucracy that plagues the US government.

Today, will may see that theory put into action. We have Trump, the consummate negotiator, literally taking a play out of his own book by offering an ultimatum to Congress... pass THIS bill, or I'm moving on (Obamacare's fine with me) He's stated that he's not afraid to walk away and move on to tax reform, job's and infrastructure.

Now usually, you would think that Congress would grow a collective pair and thrash Trump for having the audacity to interfere in the legislative process... but these congressmen rode to power on repeal & replace the ACA, and even though Trump promised universal health care for less money, he knows that Congress wants it way more than he does. The wrong vote could end many careers in 2018.

So, let's see what happens...

Green, it's interesting in that the republicans were ill prepared for the success they've garnered in both elections of representatives and now CEO of the country. One would think they'd be ready to roll out a sterling bit of legislation that would even have the opposition in awe. Personally, I'm very disappointed in both parties. I'm disappointed in Paul Ryan's apparent inadequacy of leadership.

Speaking of Mr. Ryan, brings back memories of last Dec. when some budget was supposed to be reviewed and passed. This is not a pop quiz. It's a scheduled event that happens every year. Yet, Ryan stated that they didn't have time to review it and would just have to pass it. What are these folks doing with their time? Certainly, it appears to be something other than their jobs.

The ACA will go away on it's own, it cannot survive. It was doomed from the beginning.
If Congress does not want to help fix it (or come up with something better), then they should be replaced.
Obama should have never messed with the healthcare industry, he was just pandering for minority votes. It's easier to get the hornets out of the bag than get them back in!

Ryan and trump BLINKED!!!!

They chickened out of letting the trumpcare bill go up for a vote, so that those who supported trumpcare won't have their yes vote on their Congressional records!

Didn't you know that everyone in Washington is forced to spend 50% of their time in office fundraising for their respective parties!!!

They simply don't have enough time left to legislate!

to me it looked like the first hands of a poker game.

Trump gives the ultimatum, Ryan says we'll lose, so Trump, backs down from his bluff and calls off the vote. Then Trump says we're moving on to tax reform. Trumps says we'll do a bipartisan thing when Obamacare explodes.

Winner: Democratic congressmen
Winner: Republican congressmen that would have voted NO
Winner: Republican congressmen that would have voted NO
Loser: Trump... Na-ahh! Not one democrat voted for it! Pelosi & Shumer are the losers!
Loser: American people
Exploded: Obamacare (sometime in 2017)

ObamaCare--I say the name proud!ly--is doing fine and will Not collapse. There are problem areas that need tending, but the law is NOT in a death spiral, despite the lies Republicans tell.

It was Not doomed from the beginning.

Replace all the members of congress you wish; more power to you.

Obama was not pandering to minorities--that's just your racism speaking. We are the only major country In The WORLD without national healthcare!

Good Luck with getting your hornets back in the bag.

I don't know what world you live in, but it surely has nothing to do with reality.

This was a horrible bill and would have destroyed many ppl. Ryan was right, the GOP has become only an opposition party and doesn't know how to govern. Times have changed since Trump's been in, ppl are participating in government, showing up at town halls and displaying their anger, demonstrating... On second thought, Ryan was right, they are an opposition party still and don't know how to govern but they put forward a terrible bill gutting health care from the bill, charging much higher than the ACA and having tax cuts for those making over 250K. They made the bill worse by trying to accommodate the Republicans who were voting, "NO".

Would you like to say something with meaning, that has content, that advances a logical idea?

Be forewarned however, if you expose your meaning clearly, someone might confront you with facts and ideas.

Perhaps you should just let the issue drop, yes?
