Should be able to hand hold and and get a perfect shot , unless it's dusk out and you can barley see subject , then use flash or tripod .


Obviously you have never done low light interior photography hand held. It makes a WORLD of difference if you don't have room for a tripod!

My 10-18 EFs has IS and is so nice for low light shooting. That was on of the deciding factors for choosing it besides the incredible sharpness of the lens.
Go with IS and never look back.
