This one however, was cleaning-up after rummaging around in some particularly dirty sea-weed which had washed ashore onto a local beach. Aside from looking good, it's very important for sea-birds to groom regularly, as the grooming action spreads a naturally produced body oil which helps waterproof the feathers. I personally feel they are very beautiful despite their being one of most common birds.
