Has "SCAM" written all over it. Chances are the ad also states "contact us before placing order to verify availability and or condition" that's how they get you to skirt the websites shopping cart and directly placing the order through the vendor and not the website, which then removes the responsibility for backing your purchase from either eBay or Amazon. I had a similar thing on a "perceived" lens deal, only I didn't bother calling/contacting them prior, added the item to the shopping cart, proceeded to check out. Within 24 hours the order was canceled by the website and they were discovered as being fraudulent and shut down by the website's admin. If it sounds too good to be true, it isn't. Another thing to watch for is the sellers ratings along with how long they have been selling on eBay or Amazon. Most of these types of ads show up as "just launched", as always "caveat emptor" "buyer beware".

My best friend is interested in buying a Nikon d 750 ( I have one with 24-120 f4 lens and love it). He went to dpreview and that sent him to Amazon where he sees a d 750 body NEW with 3 new prime Nikon lenses ( 35, 50 and 85). It's being called the film makers kit and Comerce A, Z is the third party seller. They are selling this bundle NEW for $1200 plus $10 shipping. Seems like it has to be a scam as the body alone is more than that. Does anyone out there know anything about this deal or about Comerce A ,Z ?? Advice please

Amazon is struggling with a cess pool of fraud right now. The next step, your friend would be asked to make payment with gift cards.

I am surprised that you would even ask this question. "Caveat Emptor".

They don't even spell "commerce" correctly.

Be very careful! It is preferably and safer to buy from a reputable dealer that stands behind what it sells and there are plenty of them.
The D750 I know is a very good camera, I have briefly used one and I have seen tons of pictures made with it and although it has been out for a few years it is still in demand and the price remains relatively high.
I tell you that it is impossible to sell one with those lenses at the advertised price.
Tell your friend that if indeed he is interested in the D750 that he should buy from a reputable dealer.

Doesn't Amazon still have their unconditional 30 day return policy? Find out. If yes, and you have used your credit card, then what do you have to lose? Buy it. Try it out for 25 days. Return if unsatisfied. And your credit card payment can be stopped if anything goes wrong?

Okay guys, who are a lot smarter than me about Amazon, what am I missing here?

You can pick links to other vendors, typically at the bottom of the Amazon vendors, that take you to their site and are not Amazon. Have you followed previous responses on this thread?

Nikon this weekend is running a sale on refurbished 750's "camera only" for around $1,300.00 This would be hard to beat!
Now if I could just eliminate that 810 from my wish list!

If only that were a legitimate offer! Google doesn't seem to know that seller. A quick look on Amazon didn't let me find it either.

It's very possible that Amazon threw them off their site. It happens all the time. Amazon is beyond negligent because they will allow anyone to sell on their site and they do not screen them. Only after a customer gets taken, will they do anything about it. Sure they get their money back but no one compensates that customer for the hassle and waste of their time. After having a couple of these experiences myself (not with photo gear), I have become extremely careful who I buy from at Amazon.

And it's most likely not a US version (=no warranty).

It's probably a grey market sale. Good luck getting any support or warranty protection on that. For expensive high end purchases always go with a reputable vendor.

I don't know where your friend is looking, but that kit on Amazon is selling for $4000 from seller "Buy Direct & Save", with free shipping... there is no sign of any $1200 offer.

It was probably a rip off that's been caught and removed by Amazon.

There are two ridiculously low "used offers" which are clearly scams (when they tell you to contact them via email before buying, you know something's up!)

I would suggest your friend look at the long-established, highest volume dealers such as Adorama and B&H Photo.... then shop around. If you see prices signicantly lower than they offer, be suspicious... VERY suspicious.
